Terms of Service
Version 0.2 · [DATE OF PUBLICATION] · replaces version 0.1
These terms are the agreement between you and Without a Net. They cover the website, everything you buy from us, the member site with its courses, chat and calls, and our live sessions on Zoom. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your data and is part of this agreement.
The short version: this is education, not therapy. Take care of yourself while you practice. Be kind to the people in the room and keep what they share to yourself. We keep recordings for internal use and delete them when you ask. If something goes wrong, write to us first.
1. Who we are
Without a Net is run by Dori DeCamillis, trading as [LEGAL FORM / ENTITY NAME], at Red Dot Gallery, 1001 Stuart Street, Birmingham, AL 35209, USA. You can reach us at support@withoutanet.org.
"We" means Without a Net. "You" means the person using the site, buying something, or taking part.
2. What we offer
- The Without a Net card deck, shipped to you.
- Gathering passes and workshops: live online sessions on a set date.
- Private sessions with Dori: one-on-one, booked for a set time. There is limited availability.
- Membership: lessons, the member community (chat and calls), and live gatherings, billed regularly until you cancel.
- Free material: the podcast, the blog, and the newsletter.
Prices are on the Store page. Session times are shown in US Central Time. We may change what we offer. If you've already paid for something specific, we'll deliver it or refund it.
Existing members of the program at learn.withoutanet.org are moving to our new member site. Until you move, Thinkific hosts your program and its terms apply alongside these. [Dori: confirm the wording once the move dates are set. Thinkific access ends 5 April 2027 at the latest.]
3. Your account
- You must be 18 or over to buy from us, sign up, or take part in a session.
- One account per person. Keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else is using your account.
- Use an email address you check. We’ll send receipts, important notices, and messages about your personal data there.
- Direct messages in the chat are encrypted, and the keys live in your browser. Keep your recovery key safe. If it's lost, we can't get your encrypted messages back.
4. Payment
Payments go through Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Memberships renew automatically at the price and interval shown when you signed up, until you cancel. We'll email you before any price change, and it applies only from your next billing period.
Prices for customers in the EU and UK include any VAT that applies. [Accountant: VAT/OSS registration and US sales tax to be confirmed.]
5. Cancelling and refunds
- Membership: cancel any time from your account. Your access runs to the end of the period you've paid for. We don't refund part of a period.
- Card deck: return it unused within 30 days of delivery for a refund. If it arrives damaged or wrong, we replace it or refund it, postage included.
- Gathering pass: refundable up to 48 hours before it starts.
- Workshop: refundable up to 7 days before. After that we'll move you to a later one when possible.
- Private session: move it or get a refund up to 48 hours before. Inside 48 hours, or if you don't come, it's charged in full.
- If we cancel anything, you choose a full refund or another date.
[Dori: confirm every number above. They come from the 12 Sep draft and are a starting point.]
If you live in the EU, EEA or UK, you also have a legal right to change your mind about most online purchases within 14 days, without a reason. For the deck, the 14 days start when it arrives. For services and digital content, they start when you pay. The law makes exceptions for sessions booked for a set date, for a service fully delivered at your request inside the 14 days, and for course content you asked to open straight away and agreed you'd lose the right for. The full wording and a model form are on our Refunds page. To use the right, write to support@withoutanet.org before the 14 days are up.
6. Education, not treatment
Without a Net teaches breath, body and awareness practices, creative exercises and group conversation. All of it is education. None of it is medical care, psychotherapy, counselling, psychiatric treatment, diagnosis, or any other licensed health service.
Dori is an artist and teacher. She is not a doctor, psychologist, therapist or counsellor, and nothing she says in a course, a session, the chat, the card deck, the podcast or an email is professional health advice.
Please don't use what you learn here instead of care from a qualified professional. Don't delay getting care, or change a treatment you've been prescribed, because of something you practiced here. We don't promise any particular result, and another member's story is not a promise about yours.
If you're in crisis, stop and get real help. In the US, call or text 988, or call 911 in an emergency. In the UK, call 999, or Samaritans free on 116 123. In the EU, call 112. Elsewhere, your local emergency number, or a helpline from findahelpline.com. Nobody watches our chat, email or sessions for emergencies.
7. Taking part at your own risk
Our practices involve changing how you breathe, moving your body, and paying close attention to what you feel. Breathwork can cause light-headedness, dizziness, tingling, or changes in heart rate and blood pressure. Movement can cause injury. Reflective work can bring up strong emotion, memories or distress.
By taking part, you confirm that:
- you understand this is education, not treatment (section 6)
- you've thought about your own physical and mental health, and have talked to a doctor or your clinician if there's any reason to, for example a heart or breathing condition, epilepsy, pregnancy, a recent injury or surgery, or a mental health condition
- you take part voluntarily and at your own risk, you look after your own safety and your own space during an online session, and you'll stop, rest or leave whenever you need to
- you won't practise while driving, operating machinery, in water, or anywhere that feeling light-headed could hurt you.
8. How we treat each other
The community works because people are honest in it. So:
- Be respectful to other members and to Dori. No harassment, abuse, slurs or threats.
- What's shared in a session or a community room stays there. Don't repeat, quote, screenshot or publish another member's personal story outside it.
- Don't record, screenshot or stream a session or a call yourself. Only we record, as described in section 9.
- Don't use the community to sell, recruit or promote anything.
- Don't post anything unlawful, or anything you don't have the right to share.
- Direct messages are private and encrypted. Community rooms are not, and moderators can read them to keep them safe.
We can remove a message, or remove you from a session, a room or the membership, if you break these rules. If we end a paid membership for this, we refund the unused part of the period, unless the breach was serious.
9. Recordings
- Group sessions may be recorded. We tell you beforehand, in the session description and out loud at the start.
- We record the spotlighted speaker, not the whole room. During teaching that's Dori. During questions it's the person speaking, and only if they've said yes.
- To stay out of a recording, keep your camera and microphone off and use the chat. You still take part.
- Group recordings are used for members who missed the session, for course material and for short clips. Anything we publish shows Dori only, unless you've agreed in writing to appear.
- We keep group recordings while the course they belong to is offered, then review them. If they belong to no course, we delete them after 24 months unless Dori keeps them for the archive.
- Private one-on-one sessions are recorded only if you and Dori both agree beforehand. We never download them, never post them, and never use them in courses or clips. Zoom deletes them after 30 days.
- Changed your mind? Ask at any time, and we'll cut you out or delete the recording. We can't recall copies other people already saved.
The details, including how to ask, are in our Privacy Policy, section 4.
10. Who owns what
Ours. Dori owns the copyright in her paintings, the card deck, the lessons, videos, audio, worksheets, prompts, the podcast and the writing on this site. You may use what you buy or access for your own personal practice. You may not copy, resell, publish or share it, share your login, use it to teach others, or use it to train an AI model, without our written permission.
Yours. What you write, draw, make or say stays yours. By posting in the community or sharing work in a session, you let us show it inside that community space so the community works. We won't publish it outside, or use it in marketing, without asking you first.
11. Our responsibility to you
As far as the law allows:
- We offer the site, the material and the sessions as they are. We don't promise that the site, the chat or Zoom will always be available.
- We're not responsible for indirect losses, lost profits or lost data, or for what happens because you relied on something we taught.
- If we are responsible, the most we owe you for any claim is what you paid us in the twelve months before it.
Nothing here limits a responsibility the law doesn't let us limit, including death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any right you have as a consumer that can't be taken away.
[Lawyer: check the cap and carve-outs against Alabama law, the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, EU consumer law and Dori's actual insurance, which has not been checked. Advise whether a waiver of claims (beyond assumption of risk) is wanted and enforceable, and whether US customers need an arbitration clause.]
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Alabama, USA, and disputes are heard in the state or federal courts of Jefferson County, Alabama.
If you're a consumer living in the EU, EEA or UK, you keep every protection your own country's consumer law gives you, including the right to go to court where you live. The choice of Alabama law doesn't take any of that away.
Please write to us first. Most things are easier to fix than to argue about.
13. Changes
These terms have a version number and a date. When we change them, we publish a new version and keep the old one at its own address (for example /terms/v0-2), so the words you agreed to can always be found. If a change matters, we email members before it takes effect. For a paid membership it applies from your next billing period, and if you don't accept it you can cancel.
14. How you accept these terms
When you buy something or sign up, you'll see these boxes. The first is required. The others are your choice, and you can change them later.
- ☐ I'm 18 or over, and I agree to the Terms of Service (version 0.2) and have read the Privacy Policy (version 0.2), including "Education, not treatment" and "Taking part at your own risk". (Required.)
- ☐ I'm happy for Without a Net to record me when I choose to speak on camera in a group session, as described in section 9. (Optional. Without it, you're never spotlighted, and you can still join with your camera and microphone off.)
- ☐ Send me the newsletter. (Optional.)
When you tick a box we record which version of each page you saw, the date and time, and your email address. We keep that record as the Privacy Policy says, so if there's ever a question about what you agreed to, we can show the exact words.
[Lawyer: confirm whether the recording box needs explicit-consent wording for health information (Article 9), and whether EU/UK digital-content purchases need a separate "start now, and I lose my withdrawal right" box at checkout, as the 12 Sep refunds draft proposes.]
15. Model withdrawal form (EU, EEA and UK customers)
Only use this if you want to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days.

I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the following goods or service: [what you bought]. Ordered on [date] / received on [date]. Name: [your name]. Address: [your address]. Date: [date]. Signature: [only if you send it on paper].
